Paratyphiod Fever
Cause/Symptoms: Bacteria. Fever, headache, malaise, anorexia, infrequent stools and possible rash on trunk.
Transmission: Fecal-oral route, either by direct contact with an infected person or indirectly through ingestion of contaminated water or foods.
Incubation: 1 to10 days.
Period of Communicability: From onset of initial symptoms, and up to 2 weeks after.
Your child can return to daycare, once all the following criteria has been meet:
~ Fever
~ your child can participate in all daycare activities
~ your provide a Dr.'s note stating: your child has had three (3) consecutive stool specimens are negative.
Expect your child to keep your child home for two (2) weeks or longer

- 48 hours from the time the fever reducing medication are out of your child system (8 to 10 hours after taking last dose) and fever has not returned
- 48 hours free of any fever reducing medication or any other medication that can mask symptoms of illness.
- If no medication is given:48 hours starting one (1) hour after you discover your child’s fever has broken
~ your child can participate in all daycare activities
~ your provide a Dr.'s note stating: your child has had three (3) consecutive stool specimens are negative.
Expect your child to keep your child home for two (2) weeks or longer
