Diarrhea/Constipation Policy
Diarrhea
Diarrhea due to illness is highly contagious.
If your child has a diarrhea, no matter the cause, your child MUST remain home.
Your child can return to daycare, once all the following criteria has been meet:
- 24 hours from the time the diarrhea reducing medication are out of your child system (8 to 10 hours after taking last dose) and diarrhea has not returned
- 24 hours free of any diarrhea reducing medication or any other medication that can mask symptoms of illness.
- If no medication is given: 24 hours starting one (1) hour after your child's last diarrhea bowel movement
This can mean your child might be home 48 hours or longer before being able to return to daycare
If your child gets diarrhea while at daycare, you will be contacted to pick your child up.
If I find out that you have given your child medication to cover up diarrhea before sending your child to daycare, I hold the right to terminate care immediately.
Constipation
