The Plan
Note - that as new information becomes available the covid-19 plan can change.
After doing hours of research and consulting the Canadian governments, Ontario governments, Ottawa Pubic Health and other Public Health units in Ontario, I have put together a plan. This wasn’t easy as most of the information is for centres and what they recommend doesn’t always work in a home daycare setting.

Inside toys – I will be limiting toys. Until further notice the only indoor toys will be ones I can soak in hot soapy water. They will be washed daily.
Stuffed toys - will be limited to just their nap time toy. Every child has their own, that will be kept in their drawer and washed on the weekend.
Books – no books will be available for the kids to handle. I will continue to read stories to the kids.
Potties – Like usual the potties will be wiped down after each use. They will be cleaned with soap and water at the end of each day. I will continue using potty bags in the potties and will remove them after each use.
Highchairs - I will be removing the cloth covering from the chairs. I will be spreading them further apart so they are not sitting to close together. The chairs will be wiped down after each use and washed with soap and water each weekend.
Sippy cups – like before each child has their own. I will help them remember which colour cup is theirs once they return. Cups will be wiped down throughout the day and washed in soap and water at the end of each day.

Sleep Tents - like before each child has their own sleep tent. The tents will be wiped down after nap time and washed in soap and water on the weekends. Because of the size of the tents and how small the room is I will be putting up “walls” between the tents, as I can’t space them out.
Sofa – I will be covering the sofa with a sheet during interviews.

Outside Time – we can go for walks in the neighbourhood and play in the backyard play area.
Outdoor Play Area – every day the backyard play area is used; it will be hosed down. It will be washed with soap and water each weekend.
Playgroup - We will not be attending playgroup until further notice.

Pick-Ups – Only one parent/pick-up person can come to the door. Pick-ups will be done on my front steps. Text/Facebook message me that you are on your way and I will try to have your child ready for when you arrive. If one family is already at the door, please wait either in your car or on my front lawn near my bird feeder so there is lots of space between you and the other family.
Before coming you need to fill out the online Daily Screening Form
Drop Offs – Only one parent/drop off person can come to the door. Drop offs will be done on my front steps. I will have a screen check list for each child. I will also be taking your child’s temperature before they can enter the daycare. Both the screening check list and temperature taking MUST be done daily. It will take a few minutes so.
