Your child is required to remain at home.

- Bacteria
- Watery diarrhea, which may contain blood, fever, nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps
- May be symptom free
Transmission:
- Fecal-oral route, either by direct contact with an infected person or indirect contact with contaminated surfaces, ingestion of contaminated water or food; or sexual contact
Incubation:
- 1 to 6 days; usually 1 to 3 days
Period of Communicability:
- 1 week if treated with antibiotics, up to 4 weeks if not
We can discuss your child's return to daycare once all the following criteria has been met:
- A doctors note is required stating your child has had two (2) consecutive stool samples or rectal swabs are negative
- Your child is eating and drinking normally
- Your child is no longer in pain
- Your child is able to participate in all daycare activities
- With Treatment - At least 7 days have passed since the onset of symptoms/diagnosis
- Without Treatment - At least 20 days have passed since the onset of symptoms/diagnosis
- The daycare diarrhea policy has been followed
- The daycare fever policy has been followed
- The daycare vomiting policy has been followed
With Treatment -
Your child is required to remain home for at least seven (7) days, if no longer.
Without Treatment -
Your child is required to remain home for at least twenty (20) days, if not longer.
Your child is required to remain home for at least seven (7) days, if no longer.

Your child is required to remain home for at least twenty (20) days, if not longer.
